タイトル：Impacts of FTA Utilization on Firm Performance
講演要旨：
A large number of scholars have investigated two hypotheses on firms’ international activities such as exporting or investing abroad: self-selection of more productive firms into international activities and learning-by-doing international activities. This paper is the first one that explores those hypotheses on firms’ use of the free trade agreement (FTA). We first estimate the propensity score of using FTA schemes in each firm and find that larger firms are more likely to use FTA schemes. Then, conducting propensity score matching analyses, we find that the use of an FTA does not change employment but does raise the shares of local inputs and exports.
